For a good portion of my day, I am a systems-thinking school leader. While that part of me never really goes away, I have other interests.

At all times, I am a father, a husband, a dog owner, a home cook, and a sports fan. When I have the time to spare, I am an outdoors-man, a beach-goer, a reader, and a full-blown foodie. Sometimes I am lucky, and I get to take my family to the beach and cook for them.

There are times when all these interests don't work out as nicely as a trip to the beach and dinner. I do not cook for the dogs, there have been times when my daughter has reminded me that we do not need a written strategic plan for a family outing, and I have not quite mastered reading and watching sports at the same time, but God knows I try.

I chose plays over the movies, chess over checkers, evenings over mornings and breakfast. I am less interested in thinking about what I want to have on the desert island and way more interested in how I got there. I will always stay overnight in the haunted house in the picture. I like stories about beings with pointy ears. If I could live anywhere, I would live anywhere.
